Lovemore Madhuku Prepares To Challenge Khupe's Expulsion From Parliament
Speaking to The Chronicle Lovemore Madhuku said he is working on his legal arguments before filing the papers challenging Thokozani Khupe’s expulsion from parliament. Speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, on Thursday announced in the National Assembly that MDC-T had recalled Khupe from Parliament.
Madhuku said they had not decided whether to approach the High Court or Constitutional Court. Said Madhuku:
We haven’t filed the papers yet. I got the instruction late yesterday. We are now working on the arguments. But it’s certain there is going to be a legal challenge. We don’t just wake up and go to court, there is a lot that needs to be covered. It might be over the weekend. If we decide to file at the High Court it will be over the weekend but should we decide on going to Constitutional Court it will definitely be after the weekend. But there will be no filing of papers today (yesterday).
