Zinara Ceo Nancy Masiyiwa-Chamisa Suspended
Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (Zinara) fired chief executive officer Nancy Masiyiwa-Chamisa on Thursday amid reports that she had clashed with Transport minister Joram Gumbo, who is accused of protecting a group of senior managers who are set to lose their jobs for various offences.
When contacted for comment by NewsDay, Board chairperson Wilfred Ramwi refused to comment on the matter and only said it is unfortunate while Masiyiwa-Chamisa could neither deny nor confirm the development. According to the letter of suspension signed by Ramwi, Masiyiwa-Chamisa was suspended with pay and benefits.
Charges against Masiyiwa-Chamisa include suspending and instituting disciplinary proceedings against Simon Taranhike and Precious Murove where there was no reasonable cause. She is accused of seeking the dismissal of the two without Gumbo’s authority. The letter alleges she did not fully and punctually report to the board the criminal proceedings against the employees.
