South Gauteng High Court Judge Denise Fisher has overturned the decision made by arbiter Advocate William Mokhari and ruled in favour of Ajax Cape Town. The club had been docked nine points and was ultimately relegated for using Tendai Ndoro in three matches because he was said to be ineligible.
However, Judge Fisher ruled that Ndoro’s eligibility remains undetermined and said that only Fifa’s Player Status Committee has jurisdiction to rule on the matter. This means that Ajax Cape Town gets its points back and moves from bottom position and relegation to number 15 in the log.
