Mugabe Fires Bodyguards Provided By The State, Thinks They Are Spying On Him

Former president Robert Mugabe is reported to be considering hiring his own personal security team after he fired six of his bodyguards who were provided by the State. Mugabe fired the bodyguards after suspecting that they may be spying on him because they spent a lot of time at the State House. He fired the bodyguards after he returned from Singapore where he had gone on medical issues.

A source who spoke to The Standard said,

Three aides were withdrawn on June 23. No explanation was given to Mugabe, who was told by the other aides that the three had been withdrawn by government. Mugabe has dumped the workers. He found three withdrawn when he was away and he dismissed the remaining six.
