Zimnat And HIT Hold Hackathon
Zimnat, one of the country’s leading insurance groups, organised hackathon together with Harare Institute of Technology in which students at the college participated. 12 students from the institute’s Electronic Commerce and Financial Engineering departments took part, competing in 4 teams. The purpose of the hackathon was to obtain insurance technology and see how this can be applied by Zimnat.
Winning teams were selected based on them building practical and implementable solutions addressing the needs of the business. Members of the winning team received $400 cash each.
Commenting on the hackathon, Zimnat Group chief executive Mustafa Sachak said this week:
Zimnat’s purpose is about making life better for its clients, stakeholders and the community it operates in. This initiative is meant to give back to the educational community while also looking for solutions to better service our clients.
