Nguni Not Fit To Investigate Corruption, He Is Corrupt Himself- Mliswa
Norton MP Temba Mliswa has said Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) commissioner in charge of investigations Goodson Nguni is unfit to lead the institution because he is corrupt himself.
Mliswa said Mnangagwa should appoint people who are credible so that institutions like ZACC are viewed as nonpartisan as this is important in building investor confidence. He suggested that Mnagagwa must appoint people like Sobusa Gula Ndebele who are fearless. Said Mliswa:
I have always said it and I mean it Goodson Nguni is not the person to investigate corruption. He is corrupt himself. Zimbabwe said it is open for business, the mantra was good. My point is Zimbabwe must get the business. Be open. Now you must get the business. But how do you get business when there is corruption. You have people like Sobusa Gula Ndebele, former Attorney General. He was the first person to say to Mugabe then, “Can you step down” and he was fired. He is a lawyer, war veteran, fears no one. These are the credible people who must be put in institutions like Anti-Corruption. The credibility of these institutions are key in confidence building. This is why the President to mix and match these institutions so that people see them as Zimbabwean institutions and not Zanu-PF institutions.
