Mnangagwa Can't Globe-trot, Ignoring The Current Crises - Fadzai Mahere

Constitutional law expert Fadzai Mahere says that President Mnangagwa has to explain what he is doing to solve the crises bedevilling the country rather than globe-trotting.
Mnangagwa is set to visit five countries, as revealed by his spokesperson on Tuesday. Mnangagwa is scheduled to undertake state visits to Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and visit Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter today, Mahere said:
He can’t go gallivanting to other countries without explaining what he plans to do about the crisis. I used to think his domestic policy was remarkably weak. Now I know it doesn’t exist. Our feigned positivity and hope can only go so far.
Mnangagwa’s predecessor, former President Robert Mugabe became infamous for his unending foreign travels, albeit some for medical reasons. Commentators say that Mnangagwa has inherited Mugabe’s globe-trotting mantle.

His latest visit comes when the country’s major hospitals are dysfunctional due to the ongoing doctors’ strike. Schools have opened on a low key as schools fees have been hiked, fuel has become even scarcer and teachers have threatened to go on strike.
