Bindura Councillor In Court, Said ED Authored Zim's Economic Problems
MDC Alliance for Ward 3 in Bindura, Brian Kembo is set to appear before the Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with disorderly conduct.
Kembo allegedly remarked that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is liable for causing stress and authoring the country’s economic problems.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said:
Today, @ZLHRLawyers’ @IdirasheC is in Bindura representing Brian Kembo, the Councillor for Ward 3 in Bindura, who is appearing in court, charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly stated that President Mnangagwa is liable for causing stress and authoring Zimbabwe’s economic crisis.
Kembo’s arrest echoes the excesses experienced during former President Robert Mugabe’s reign when members of the public were arrested for criticising the government’s failure to deal with economic challenges.
