Murder Accused Mashurugwi Appear In Court

The Bindura informal miners accused of murdering two soldiers in fight appeared in court on Wednesday and were remanded in custody. The miners, who belong to a mining gang called Mashurugwi, are accused of murdering 2 soldiers with knives apparently following a disagreement over girlfriends.
The 2 soldiers – Shaw Tizora (33), Tawanda Garega (35) – died on the spot while a third colleague was rushed to the police to report the matter and afterward to Bindura Provincial Hospital.
The accused miners’ identities are Alexio Gumbato (36) and Job Chitsvimbo whose age was not given. They appeared before the Bindura magistrate.
