Mugabe-linked Party Spokesperson Questions First Lady NatPharm Visit

Spokesperson of the Robert Mugabe-aligned opposition National Patriotic Front (NPF), Jealousy Mawarire, has questioned First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa’s visit to the National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm).
Mawarire’s query follows Mrs Mnangagwa’s visit to Natpharm on Thursday where she criticised officials at the parastatal. Writing on Twitter, Mawarire said:
Zimbabweans, tell me which legal instrument empowers First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa to investigate Natpharm drug dispensary?
FeedbackShe isn’t a government official yet she goes to parastatals asking for official documents. That’s totally unacceptable. Civil servants don’t report to a First Lady.
Is the First Lady taking over the role of the Minister of Health, the deputy minister and permanent secretary?

Has she become a medical director in the ministry? Her behaviour is totally unacceptable, uncivilized, not professional and intrusive.
The First Lady reportedly fumed at Natpharm bosses for stocking medicines whilst clinics are empty. She said:
We have had a leakage of medicine, how did that happen? Why are there such leakages? Are you aware that people are suffering out there?
Why is it that clinics are complaining that there is no medicine yet you have boxes piled here, what are the donors going to say, why are all these boxes stocked?
I went to Mashonaland Central and found some pharmacies empty. The situation on the ground is untenable and I want to understand where medicines are going, it is theft.
