MDC VPs Elias Mudzuri & Morgen Komichi Fail To Retain Posts At Congress
The just ended MDC Elective Congress that was held in Gweru over the weekend saw some members being elevated whilst some were humbled. Elias Mudzuri and Morgen Komichi have failed to retain their VP posts.
This followed the election of the triumvirite Welshman Ncube,Tendai Biti, and Lynette Kore for the the same post.
Komichi is one of the party members who were viewed as having more of loyalty to the party than competency. The party was torn between competency and loyalty.
Professor Welshman Ncube and advocate Tendai Biti led breakaway factions of MDC in 2005 and 2014 respectively after failing to agree with Tsvangirayi back then.
Resultantly, they were labeled sellouts and ZANU PF agents. The pressure group known as In Defense of Morgan Tsvangirai’s legacy reportedly led by Makoni West Legislator Webber Chinyadza who was quoted by New Zimbabwe before the congress saying:
These agents have sown confusion and destruction at the very core of the MDC. A party that was the only hope for redemption for the masses of this country.
