Contract Standoff Blights Zim Gems' Preparation For Malawi Match

The Zimbabwe World Cup Netball team on Thursday morning held a meeting about players’ contracts, a few hours before playing Malawi in Group F.
Zim Morning Post reports that the Zimbabwe Gems had raised several concerns concerning their welfare, particularly the fact that they had not yet signed contracts with the tournament almost coming to an end.
An unnamed Zimbabwe Netball Association official who spoke to the publication said:
We met with the ladies this morning and agreed that money had been wired from government and they would receive their dues.
They were also told that upon arrival back home they will also receive another batch of funds from the government. So the matter has been resolved.
