Supreme Court Yet To Determine Tsvangirai's 2002 Election Petition Against Mugabe - Report
A political analyst, Pedzisai Ruhanya said the fact that the Supreme Court has not determined Morgan Tsvangirai’s 2002 election petition against Robert Mugabe’s rigging of the polls shows that Zimbabwe’s judiciary is captured.
Ruhanya lamented that 17 years later, with both Tsvangirai and Mugabe now dead, the Supreme Court is yet to make a ruling. He wrote:
Both Tsvangirai and Mugabe are dead. The Supreme Court is yet to determine Tsvangirai’s 2002 election petition against Mugabe’s violent and manipulation of the poll using the army 17 years on.
FeedbackAnyone who says Zimbabwe has an independent judiciary can go to hell or somewhere nearer!
Mugabe defeated Tsvangirai by a narrow margin following a violent pre-election period targeting opposition supporters that was unprecedented.
Scores of opposition supporters were brutally murdered in cold blood, homes were torched and hundreds of activists fled the country.
