"ZANU PF Bigwigs, PAC Blocking ED From Having Dialogue With Chamisa," - ZANU PF Official
Outspoken ZANU PF youth leader, Godfrey Tsenengamu has claimed that there are some ZANU PF stalwarts who are blocking prospects of a dialogue between president Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition MDC leader, advocate Nelson Chamisa.
Tsenengamu who said he will personally work to effect a dialogue between Chamisa and Mnangagwa told the Daily News on Sunday that the officials from the ruling party are afraid of losing their Cabinet posts if the dialogue takes place. He said:
President Mnangagwa has said it ad infinitum that we should dialogue … we want that initiative to start now because we have also heard advocate Chamisa saying let’s dialogue.
FeedbackI feel there are people who want the stand-off to continue, people who are afraid of losing their positions in Cabinet and also in the civil service.
He further claims that the officials and others in the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) are sabotaging Mnangagwa so that they take over power if he fails to deliver.
Tsenengamu’s remarks come when Zimbabwe has a legion of socio-economic and political issues including huge shortages in water, fuel, cash, foreign currency, food and power with some analysts arguing that the impasse between Mnangagwa and Chamisa is worsening the crises.
