State To Forfeit 4 Cars Allegedly Stolen By Walter Mzembi And Allies

The state is set to forfeit 4 vehicles which they claim former tourism Minister Walter Mzembi bought using funds for the UNWTO in 2012 and never surrendered them after they were done using them, the Herald reports.

Mzembi and allies allegedly used Mzembi’s influence to garner donations for the UNWTO that was being held in Victoria Falls and used the funds to buy the vehicles, 3 ford ranger trucks that were used during the UNWTO. Mzembi also managed to convince Mimosa mine to donate another vehicle for the UNWTO bringing the cars to a total of 4 vehicles used during the conference.

After the conference, Mzembi and allies according to the Herald took all the cars and never surrender them.

Sangarwe took possession of a Ford Ranger T6 (registration number ACU 6801) and did not surrender it after the conference

Kuhudzayi took the other Ford Ranger T6 (ACU 3707) contrary to Government procedures. She sold the vehicle to Grey Hama and was later arrested

Mzembi took a Ford Ranger (ACU 7946). In March 2013, Mzembi approached Mimosa Mine through its chairman, Mr Winston Chitando, who donated a Tata Xenon double cab (ACX 5409) for use at the conference,

ZACC which was established by the president this year is responsible for unearthing these corruption cases.
