Two Men Drown During Swimming Contest For RTGS$200
Two men, both aged 25, drowned in a dam after a swimming competition for $200.00 went awry.
Acting police spokesperson for Mashonaland East Province Assistant Inspector Misheck Denhere said Marshal Dhlamini and Benjamin Dick drowned in Musinje Dam in Juru Growth Point last week. He said:
Circumstances are that on November 12, around 1700 hours, Dhlamini and Dick in the company of three others went to Musinje Dam to take a bath.
FeedbackUpon arrival at the dam, Dhlamini challenged Dick for a swimming race across the dam and suggested that the winner will get $200, Dick accepted the challenge and the two managed to swim across and they decided to complete the race by swimming back.
However, they got exhausted while in the middle of the dam and drowned to death.
