G40 Undermining The Party's Operations In Harare - Zanu PF
The ruling party is claiming members of the G40 are sabotaging their operations in the sunshine city, the Daily News reports.
The matter came to light in the party’s central committee report meant for the just-ended Goromonzi congress which read in part:
The restructuring exercise in Harare has unearthed very unethical conduct by some members who were linked to the G40 during the first republic. In many instances, they have shown total disregard for authority. This infiltration by undesirable elements is a very serious security threat which the national security department is currently seized with.
They also lack discipline and are thugs who continue to cause problems for the ruling party to the extent that mobilising support for the party has become a mammoth task, This group is composed of land barons and very corrupt members who should not be tolerated by the revolutionary party.
The report is coming at a time when Vice President Chiwenga reportedly claimed that the G40 faction was still alive in the ruling party.
