de Jongh Leaves Highlanders

The Dutchman has left iBosso after leading the team to win its first major trophy in 4 years, The Chronicle reports. Hendrik Pieter de Jongh was offered a year contract and he didn’t sign it fueling rumours that he had received better offers elsewhere.

The Dutchman has confirmed the rumours in a tweet that bade his team farewell:

Big thanks to the Bosso family for the cooperation and the great success we had together. I go from 1 January 2020 for a new challenge. Thanks for the great time.

During his short time as the Highlanders‘ coach, Bosso won 8 games drew 6 and lost once. de Jongh was hired after Madinda Ndlovu left for Botswana.
