We Are Pushing For Price Reduction - Consumer Council Of Zimbabwe
The Consumer Council of Zimbabwe has said it is pushing for price reduction to encourage people to buy local and promote local brands to create employment and circulate money in the economy, The Chronicle reports.
Speaking to the publication CCZ regional manager, Mr Comfort Muchekeza said:
We encourage consumers to buy products from shops, products that are produced locally so as to create employment and circulate money in the country. Even if the product has a problem, we can approach the producers and find a solution.
We are pushing for prices reduction. Manufacturers and retailers must have a self-regulatory mechanism and should not wait for statutory instruments to control them
Retailers have been lamenting how cheap substitute imported goods have affected their businesses.
