PICTURE: FredaRebecca Mines Gets Approval To Pay Salaries In USD

FredaRebecca Mine in Bindura posted a memo to their employees notifying them that they had been given the go-ahead to pay their salaries in USD. The memo that is dated 23 January has since gone viral on social media and it reads in part:

Kindly note that negotiations for USD salary approval have been concluded we have received the requisite approval from January 2020 to December 2020

Henceforth payroll is being readjusted to USD and let us expect our salaries early next week.

It is still not clear if the negotiations were with the government or with their management. Meanwhile, Zimra has said if your employees are paid in forex you should pay employee tax in forex.
