Chimurenga musician, Thomas Mukanya Mapfumo has bemoaned the deteriorating state of affairs in Zimbabwe adding that the have-nots are the ones who suffer from the man-made problems.

He said that toxic politics and mismanagement of the country’s resources has crippled the country. Commenting on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s “2030 ndeendichipo” (2030 I will still be there) Mukanya said that “Uchiitei ipapo” (doing what”.

He added that if ZANU PF has failed, they must give power to others who have the capacity. He also said that Zimbabweans should be united and go beyond party politics. Mukanya also urged Zimbabweans to be resolute if they want to effect political change.

Mapfumo also blamed the opposition MDC for partaking in the 2018 elections which they claimed were stolen by the ruling ZANU PF. He said reforms should have been effected first before elections.

He also spoke of 2023 elections, anticipated dialogue between ZANU PF and MDC which shall be mediated by former South African President Thabo Mbeki. Watch the video below for more.
