WArriors To Play Their Home Matches In Neighboring Countries As CAF Bans All Zimbabwean Stadiums
The Confederation of African Football has extended its ban to Barbourfields Stadium, which means all stadiums in the country cannot host international football matches, The Herald reports.
This was revealed by ZIFA‘s Xolisani Gwesela who said CAF came to this decision after inspecting the country’s stadiums. Said Gwesela:
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation that it has received correspondence from the Confederation of African Football that our stadiums do not meet Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards to host international matches. Consequently, CAF has made a decision to bar ZIFA from using local stadiums in all upcoming international matches.
FeedbackThe development will see The Warriors‘ 2021 AFCON qualifier being played in another country. ZIFA said they were appealing the ban.
