Suspected Coronavirus Patient Dies At UBH, Nurses Too Scared To Help Him
A patient admitted at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) died of suspected COVID-19 on Saturday morning, sending nurses into panic mode.
The man was reportedly admitted in Forrester Ward and exhibited symptoms for COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by the new coronavirus.
NewsDay was told that the patient visited Dubai in March and after his death, city council officials fumigated the mortuary and the ward at the hospital. Said the publication’s source:
The patient died yesterday (Saturday) in Forrester Ward, so they are waiting for the results. If they come out positive, we are all in trouble. They are saying results are not yet out and the patient had visited Dubai last month.
Sisters at Forrester Ward were afraid of him. He was shouting and shouting, but they were too scared to go there.
He died on Saturday early morning in Forrester Ward. The mortuary and the Ward were fumigated by the city council.
UBH acting CEO Dr Narcisius Dzvanga told the publication that the man tested negative for coronavirus and the Forrester Ward was disinfected as a precautionary measure.
