Chiwenga: I Was Ready To Bring English Clubs To Zimbabwe Before Stadium Ban
United Kingdom-based FIFA licensed match agent Ellen Chiwenga claims she was working on bringing English Premier League teams to Zimbabwe when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) banned the country’s stadiums from hosting international games.
Posting on her Facebook account, Chiwenga said everything was almost done and they were working on the dates. She said:
I was hurt when Zimbabwe was banned from hosting international matches at local venues.
FeedbackI was working on bringing the EPL to Zimbabwe and facilitating a shirt sponsorship deal like that of Arsenal and Rwanda. We were only left on finalising the dates.
CAF banned all of Zimbabwe’s stadiums early this year, saying they did not meet the minimum standards for hosting international football matches and needed massive renovations.
