Drax Threatens Sue The Govt For Cancelling the Controversial $60 Million Drugs Supply Deal
Drax Consult SAGL is reportedly planning to sue the National Pharmaceuticals Company (NatPham) for cancelling the controversial medical supplies deal worth US$60 million, New Zimbabwe reports.
Drax has reportedly engaged Harare lawyers Samukange and Hungwe Attorneys and has written to NatPham saying they are notifying Natpham of their intension to commence arbitration on the matter:
Our client hereby gives notice of its intention to commence arbitration under the London Court of International Arbitration rules (LCIA). This route is being pursued on the basis that the purported cancellation is not only unlawful but was capriciously and unprocedurally done.
FeedbackThe government cancelled the Drax deal after it emerged the company was selling medical sundries to the government at highly inflated prices.
