Tongai Mnangagwa Donating 10 000kgs Of Mealie Meal Every Week To His Constituency, Urges Other MPs To Donate To Voters Too
Tongai Mnangagwa who is the ZANU PF’s Harare South MP has started an initiative to donate mealie meal in his constituency as he said he discovered that a lot of people in his constituency rely on vending and are having a tough time making ends meet.
This was revealed by Mnangagwa himself who said he is donating 10 000kgs of mealie meal every week to households in his constituency:
I have launched a programme to donate mealie meal in my constituency after realising that most people in Harare South used to survive on vending which has since been restricted by the current lockdown.
FeedbackSo once a week, I am donating a 10kg bag of maize meal to 1 000 households per each to supplement their families and I hope to increase the quantities and other grocery varieties going forward.
Mnangagwa also urged other legislators to do the same when he said:
I urge other legislators to try their best and assist vulnerable families during these difficult times.
Beneficiaries of the program are said to be happy with Mnangagwa’s efforts.
