Fear Of A Second Wave Of COVID-19 Surge As The World Sees Record New Weekly Case
Cases of COVID-19 reached a seven day all-time high last week as the world recorded close to 2 million new cases, eNCA reports. This was revealed by the World Health Organisation which stated that:
During the week ending on 20 September, 1,998,897 new cases of the novel coronavirus were registered around the world.
That marks a six percent increase over a week earlier and the highest number of reported cases in a single week since the beginning of the epidemic
FeedbackA tally by American publication, AFP says the pandemic has infected 31 million people globally and over 960 000 deaths were recorded worldwide. while Africa has recorded a 12% drop in fresh cases from a week earlier. On a positive note, despite the resurgence of new cases in America and Europe, the number of new deaths is going down.
