ZUPCO Pledges Improved Service To Cater For Learners
The Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) has assured members of the public that it will improve the availability of buses to ensure that travellers are not disadvantaged.
ZUPCO marketing and public relations officer Sikhanyisiwe Ncube said the transport utility will intensify its operations to cater to the increased number of commuters following the reopening of schools for all classes this week. Said Ncube:
The Zimbabwe United Passenger Company will scale up its operations and scheduling initiatives to ensure that the commuting public is not disadvantaged.
FeedbackWe have a schedule of pick up points which we published September 30, 2020, to notify commuters, especially learners of the designated pick up points for our buses.
We have positioned point monitors at these points to ensure that order prevails as well as to keep updating our operations team on the prevailing situation at designated points.
This follows calls by parents who are appealing for more ZUPCO buses to ferry their children to and from school after the Government banned private kombis from operating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classes for learners from Early Childhood Education up to Grade Five, as well as Form Ones and Twos, start this Monday and this is the last phase of the school re-opening strategy.
