SA Likely To Have Another Lockdown - Report

Zimbabwe’s Southern neighbor South Africa(SA) will likely get into the second lockdown if cases keep increasing in one of Africa’s flagship economies, The Herald reports.  In the last few days, there has been a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in South Africa and these might prompt the Ramaphosa administration to impose restrictions in order to curb spreading the virus.

This was revealed by the country’s President Cyril Ramaphosa who after a special Cabinet sitting said they are staying at level one for now but things might change if cases keep increasing:

We are seeing how quickly and how dramatically infections can rise in a number of countries,” said President Ramaphosa.

The rise in infections in some of these countries has led to the reimposition of tough restrictions.

We have also seen in other countries how a resurgence can dash hopes for a swift economic recovery. The first is the situation in the Eastern Cape, which is showing signs of a resurgence.

If South Africa goes back to some levels of the lockdown, alcohol sales, traveling and public gatherings will be prohibited.
