Zanu PF To Hold DCC Polls At 1248 Poling Stations This Weekend
Zanu PF District Coordination Committee (DCC) Polls will go ahead as scheduled countrywide this coming weekend, The Herald reports. The disputed DCC Polls that have been marred with violence and reports of irregularities will be held at 1 248 polling stations in the country’s 8 provinces.
This was revealed by the party’s spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa during a press conference when he said:
Let me hasten to say that by the end of day tomorrow (today) we might see a marginal increase in the number of polling stations, particularly in those provinces with more party districts. Satellite polling stations will be created.
FeedbackThe satellite polling stations would be arrived at by the supervisory teams in consultation with their election commissioners. This should be done no later than the end of day tomorrow. Manicaland which has 260 polling stations has established 27 more satellite stations bringing the number to 287,
The voting will take place at polling stations. There is no mailing of votes in our case. All the results will be displayed outside each and every polling station as the party continues to entrench and expand the democratic space.
The announcement that thousands of people will gather to vote comes after the Ministry of Health issued an SI barring any by-elections a few months ago and the congregation of more than 50 people is still prohibited.
