Lawyer Responds To Reports Saying Bushiri Escaped Through Beitbridge
Malawian preacher Shepherd Bushiri reportedly escaped from South Africa through the Beitbridge Border Post with the help of his unnamed secret “lover”.
The allegations were allegedly made by an unnamed former member of Shepherd Bushiri’s church.
Bushiri’s South Africa-based lawyer, Ntsako Baloyi, however, said there were many theories on how Bushiri had escaped from South Africa where he is still wanted for alleged money laundering. Baloyi said:
It’s not known to me how they left, as I deal with them on legal issues – not on how they decide to do things. To date, I can tell you that they’ve shared nothing about how they left with me. I suppose they’re not emotionally ready to do so.
Let me share with you: the same day that the prophet came out of prison, he started losing serious weight and when he was admitted to hospital here in South Africa, they told him he had poison in his blood.
The Bushiri’s have it on record, and evidence from the prison, that they were poisoned.
Earlier reports claimed Shepherd and his wife Mary escaped South Africa’s borders with the help of both the South African and Malawian governments.
It s further alleged that the preacher used the plane that was carrying Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera to run away.
