School Reopening: Govt To Make Formal Announcement
Information Secretary, Nick Mangwana has dismissed reports that suggest that school reopening has been deferred saying the government will make a formal announcement on the matter.
Posting on Twitter, Mangwana said President Emmerson Mnangagwa had not deferred school reopening. He said:
_We have taken note of messages circulating on the WhatsApp platform alleging that the President has deferred the opening of schools by two weeks. That is not correct. Should there be a change regarding the opening of schools, Govt will make a formal announcement._
FeedbackResponding to some who were arguing that the state usually dismisses rumours as false only for another high ranking official to confirm the earlier rumour moments later, Mangwana said:
_Sometimes people make correct predictions of policy thrusts but simetimes they get it wrong. I am just confirming that in this case if there is anything to announce, we will anmounce later. After today is Cabinet day._
