South Africa Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 17 February 2022
Here is South Africa’s Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update issued by the Department of Health (NDoH) RSA on 17 February 2022:
Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health (NDoH), there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported.
On Thursday, the NDoH reported 435 deaths and of these, 17 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 97,955 to date.
FeedbackThe cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa was 3 652 024 with 3 056 new cases reported.
The cumulative number of recoveries now stands at 3 515 196 with a recovery rate of 96.3%.
The cumulative number of vaccinations administered: 30 858 874.
Active Cases: 38 873.
Tests Conducted: 34 476 bringing cumulative tests to 22 796 653.
