By-elections Update: Chamisa Urges Supporters To Be Alert Amid Rigging Plot Reports

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, has urged his supporters to be alert amid reports of a plot to rig the elections.

He claims the plot is set to be implemented in Epworth, St Mary’s, Harare Central, Harare East and Kuwadzana constituencies. He said:

Citizens in Epworth, St Mary’s, Harare Central, Harare East and Kuwadzana constituencies be vigilant. They are trying to pull a fast one there! Beware of those merchants of darkness!!!

Zimbabwe this Saturday held the biggest ever by-elections to elect 28 Members of Parliament and over 100 councillors.

Results are expected on Sunday morning, according to ZEC officials.

While there has been no incident in some parts of the country, some cases of violence were recorded at some polling stations.

The CCC also claimed that some of its polling agents were denied access into a polling station with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission saying they had not registered with the electoral body while some withdrew after alleged threats.
