ZANU PF Youth League Extends Deadline For Submission Of CVs1 year ago
The ZANU PF national youth leadership recently announced the extension of the deadline for the submission of curriculum vitae (CVs) to contest for its national youth executive.
The move is reportedly meant to allow the late former president, Robert Mugabe’s son, Robert Mugabe Jnr, to submit his CV.
NewsDay reported ZANU PF sources on Wednesday as saying President Emmerson Mnangagwa is keen on having a good relationship with the former president’s widow, Grace Mugabe. Said the source:
We have received reports that the extension for the submission of the CVs for nomination in the national executive is meant to cater for Robert Mugabe Jnr to submit his CV.
His age is still good and has a good chance to be voted into the national executive.

We don’t know who is pushing him (Robert Jnr), but President Emmerson Mnangagwa is reportedly seeking to win the hearts of the former First Family and by pushing Robert Jnr, he is pushing his agenda.
The youth league closed the submission of CVs last week but then reopened the process on Tuesday, according to a circular dated 5 April 2022. Read the circular:
Please, note that circular 4 is issued with reference to circular 3 of 2022 dated April 29, 2022, ZANU PF youth league wishes to advise that the submission to participate in the elections of the national youth executive has been extended to Friday, April 8, 2022, by 12 pm.
However, some ZANU PF officials said the extension came after the party’s provinces complained that some youths failed to submit their CVs on time.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF political commissar Mike Bimha denied claims that the deadline was extended to allow Robert Jnr to submit his papers. He said:
No, no ZANU PF does not cater to the interest of one person. ZANU PF has many people who have an interest in it.
In fact, comrade Tendai Chirau (acting secretary for youth affairs) reported to us that there were some areas that were left out after getting the news late which is why they extended the submission of the CVs.
ZANU PF will hold its 7th national youth conference from 4 to 8 May 2022.
