CCC "Interim Secretary General" Sengezo Tshabangu Dares Chamisa

CCC "Interim Secretary General" Sengezo Tshabangu Dares Chamisa

Self-proclaimed CCC interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu, has dared the Nelson Chamisa-led party to take him to court if he is an “imposter”.

On Tuesday, 03 October, Tshabangu wrote to the Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda, and the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Winston Chitando recalling 15 MPs and 17 councillors saying they had ceased to be members of the CCC.

CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Siziba on Wednesday, 04 October, dismissed Tshabangu as an imposter and said the party was taking action against him and “and all his contacts.”

But speaking in an interview with NewZimbabwe.com yesterday, Tshabangu said those “recalled” had been imposed by certain individuals in the opposition party and were therefore “illegitimate”. He said:

This is an internal issue in CCC. Those recalled have done something and I cannot divulge anything at the moment.

I will be in a position to explain the reasons very soon. We are citizens and we just want to correct something that was not done properly.

A product of an illegitimate process becomes illegitimate as well.

Negotiations had not failed but the internal politics in CCC had to be resolved either way.

If I do not belong to CCC, as they say, l do not care. I am going to the initial principles of our party.

If they think I am an infiltrator, they should go to court and see whether they are going to win this case.

This time, we are going to play hardball. My issue is that I only have different views so those leaders will engage me.

Asked about his appointment as the interim Secretary General in a party that has no existing structures, Tshabangu said:

Are you saying CCC has no structures? If so, where is Nelson Chamisa’s “presidential” post coming from?

Tshabangu also rejected the accusation that he was involved in the double candidates saga during the nomination process. He said:

I never caused any problems. In the structures, “Bereka Mwana” strategy was not a narrative. We are just correcting that.

Section 129 of the Zimbabwean Constitution outlines the circumstances under which a Member of Parliament may be recalled by their constituents. The section reads as follows:

“(1) The seat of a Member of Parliament becomes vacant if the member—

(a) ceases to be a member of the political party of which he or she was a member when elected to Parliament and the political party concerned, by written notice to the Speaker or the President of the Senate, as the case may be, has declared that the member has ceased to be a member of the party;

(b) is expelled from the political party of which he or she was a member when elected to Parliament;

(c) resigns from Parliament or from the political party of which he or she was a member when elected to Parliament; or

(d) is deemed by the Speaker or the President of the Senate, as the case may be, to have ceased to qualify for election to Parliament in terms of section 119 or 120.”

I think it's high time Ed and his zanu pf old peoples party concentrate on providing service to the people of Zim than to squander the national resources trying to destroy Chamisa, you can not rig election year in year out for the purpose of selfishly fighting a party that is people oriented and supported. You once tried it and dismaaly failed.

Chamisa to fire Hwende, Ostallos hararepost.co.zwAug 31, 2023 4:58 PM Staff Reporter In a shocking turn of events in the opposition party, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa is threatening to fire two of his close lieutenants, Gift ‘Ostallos’ Siziba and Charlton Hwende. A source confided in this publication that Chamisa wanted to chuck out Hwende and Siziba from CCC because the two were showing signs of rebellion by publicly defying the former`s orders. The source revealed that Siziba was threatening Chamisa’s popularity in Bulawayo and Matabeleland Provinces. “Chamisa has made it clear that he intends to expel Hwende and Ostallos from that party. This is because the duo is secretly disregarding Chamisa’s directive to boycott Parliament,” said the source. “Ostallos and Hwende are busy persuading the winning legislators to hold on to their seats and to attend the opening of the 10th Parliament as they had earned their appointments and everything that comes with the status. Hwende is said to have reminded the 103 CCC Members of Parliament elect that they didn’t owe anyone allegiance since they were left to self-finance their campaign to get to where they are,” said the source. Moreover, claims are that Chamisa was facing resistance from his subordinates due to his dictatorial tendencies and selfish behaviour. According to the source, Hwende blames the CCC loss on Chamisa and the latter is aware of it. He also harbors an opinion that, had it been Tendai Biti or Job Sikhala who was on the stirring wheel, CCC would have won the elections. “Our leader Hwende said it all went haywire the minute we allowed Chamisa to stop the elective congress. If we had gone through with it and Biti or Sikhala were elected, we would have won this election. Chamisa’s dictatorial tendency of clinging on to power, imposing candidates is what caused our party to lose this election. “This has nothing to do with ZANU PF rigging, but people were not happy in many constituencies because the candidates that Chamisa imposed on them were unpopular. The reason we lost was due to a protest vote by the people,” said the source. Furthermore, Chamisa purged a lot of CCC big wigs as that party prepared for the Harmonised General Elections. Biti, Welshman Ncube, Sikhala, Tabitha Khumalo and Thokozani Khupe were all thrown to the wayside in favour of the younger generation that he thought he could control.

@ maparamuro where does this "impositor" derive his authority to recall MPs and Councillors his actions ate also null and void.
CHAWABVUNZA · 1 year ago
CCC must quickly write to the Speaker of Parliament and the Minister of Local Government and disown the impositor. They must not procrastinate. They must do it in double quick time. This is my story and I am sticking to it. [ THE BUSH LAWYER4CCC ].

Hapana kunyora matsamba kungaitwa apa the CCC President is fully aware of what Tshabangu did but the pombi yadohnas are unaware of the most happenings. Remember Gidza and company were threatened with dismissals when it was suggested that CCC MPs should not sworn in , you remember?

So you're saying if I just pop in your company and start working without a contract Considering thst there are some employees without contracts it will mean you can get rid of me? An imposter is an imposter with or without a register. They can simply announce it publicly that he is not in the nuclears circle of tve party perhaps he is just an ordinary supporter who has no authority to change parties decision.
King · 1 year ago
An ordinary party member or card holder can still change the party rules or Constitution if he or she notices some anomalies. he/she can just approach the court. this happened before.

maparamuro · 1 year ago
Fire him using which rules when the party has no constitution? How do you fire someone when you don't have a register that he is your member and that you have authority to do so?

Similarly, where is he coming from with a position like SG, when CCC has no positions and no structures? Can he point to any document that gives him the powers to do what he is doing, or any minutes that recorded his SG election or appointment? It cuts both ways baba.

Mmm this is now becoming too much of a circus.. Obviously this guy has someone behind him telling him what to do. Its a well known fact that ED is looking for ways to get 2/3 majority. After that alter the constitution to go well beyond 2028
