"Mnangagwa Is Not Paying Us Anything," South Africans Chase Pregnant Zimbabwean From Hospital

A heavily pregnant woman from Zimbabwe was recently chased away from Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria West by a group of South African women, who shouted at her in public and made her feel embarrassed.

The South African women insulted her and said she was putting too much pressure on South Africa’s healthcare system.

In a video that has gone viral online, the Zimbabwean woman, whose name is not known, is seen being shouted at and told not to come back to the hospital.

The South African women claimed that Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, doesn’t pay South Africa for the healthcare used by Zimbabwean people. They said:

We are talking to you, switch off the phone! You always come to South Africa to make babies, why?

Wena, you come for blood tests for free, in our country? You know we pay tax? Is Mnangagwa paying the South African government for your healthcare? Mnangagwa is not paying us anything

Can you go and fix your problems with Mnangagwa? Go to Zimbabwe; we do not want you here anymore.

Today, when you get home start making arrangements on where you are going to deliver that baby, because here in Pretoria West you are not coming, we do not want you anymore! Go home!

The women told the Zimbabwean woman to “go to Ramaphosa’s house or Julius Malema’s house — they’ll help you give birth.”

You are using our facilities, so we are talking to the right person, it is you who came with a bag to give birth here in South Africa, and you are nothing, you are not a South African.

This is not the first time a Zimbabwean patient has faced hostility in South Africa while seeking medical care.

In August 2022, Phophi Ramathuba, who was then the Health MEC for Limpopo, came under fire after a video showed her scolding a Zimbabwean patient at Bela Bela Hospital.

In the footage, she criticised the patient for coming to South Africa for treatment, saying that healthcare should be the responsibility of Zimbabwe’s government under President Mnangagwa.

She argued that foreign nationals were placing too much pressure on South Africa’s healthcare system and budget.

These crazy SA xenophobes are too nervous for nothing, most of us... we go there for medication that we pay for. After all many hospitals are manned by Zim docs and nurses.

Eh my 2 cents is this. South African women should be applauded you see these Zimbabweans sneaking into SA for medical assistance they are the same people who are not taking Cde Geza's calls for civil disobedience seriously because they have the option to sneak into South Africa and deliver babies in up to date facilities then sneak back home and continue singing Ed chibaba.

Until south africans realise that ANC is the problem they will keep on hating on Zimbabweans without any change. Zimbos in SA are there by the machinations on ANC and ZANU. ANC gets cheap labour inturn they guarantee Zanu-PF continued grip on power in Zim

As much as we might blame the system for our crumpling economy, South African citizens are shallow minded. They forget the yesteryear when the situation was bad in south Africa.. At the peak of apartheid, many South Africans flocked to Zimbabwe and were treated well. There was no Xenophobic attack on them. They should be reminded that tomorrow is always hidden. Turn on tables can happen.

If pple can only understand how the geopolitics works, it's a pity Zimbabwean citizens go thru such humiliation, the other daily the ANC youth league president was busy saying viva Zanu , cos these politicians can't tell each other the truth Vos they corrupt, South African citizens are doing what they have been told that its foreigners who make their health system.crumble but honestly if u were in their situation it's what u will do ..I mean till when should Zimbabwean citizens go thru such..pple think it's easy to confront that regime unfortunately they don't know what's happening in a dictatorial state ..very unfortunately yaz

It's because of ignorance, they get money through remittance bank charges, export tax fees through beitbridgeMessina border post. The toll gates in Limpopo collect lots of money from Zimbabwean cars. Dstv is collecting our US dollars to south Africa. Zimbabwe imports a lot of goods from south Africa worth millions.I can go on and on........... The population of Zimbabweans in south Africa is estimated to be around 1 million, which is less then 5% of 65million.its a tiny percentage, it cannot overwhelm the health system. It's just ignorance from south Africans... infact south Africa spends Billions of dollars through HIV and TB treatment.an estimated one in ten south Africans is HIV positive, the highest in the world .This HIV is what's straining South Africa's health system not immigrants. If they have a problem let them charge us hospitals fees,we have no problem paying, who said we can't afford to pay.

Even in Zambia the fees they make you pay are too much compared to what the locals pay. One can pay up to k600 while the locals pay k20 which is less than a dollar for all the treatment from scan, x-ray and the drugs. Simply put they don't want us there and our own system is dead
