Career
DJ Munya made his name on radio as a teenager, working for Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation's Radio 3 before it was renamed to Power FM.[1] He left Power FM and joined Star FM where he presented the show The Cross Over (TXO) before working behind the scenes following the murder allegations leveled against him.[2]
He was hired by ZiFM Stereo in August 2015 and initially presented the programme Zi-World Chart Show between 10AM and 2PM. ZiFM was accused of having double standards as it fired Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande over a sex tape.[3]
Murder Case
In 2013, DJ Munya was accused of kidnapping and killing a man he suspected of having an affair with his wife, but was put off remand in 2015 and the court said the State could proceed by way of summons if it gathers enough evidence against him.[3]He is alleged to have demanded $5 000 in adultery damages from Ortneal Tinashe Magorimbo after discovering the man was having a secret affair with his wife in February 2013. It is alleged that Milimo approached his wife’s lover in a bid to be compensated for the adulterous affair. Allegations are that Magorimbo made a part payment of $1 000 through Janhi and Matare leaving a balance which was to be paid in instalments but since the initial payment he became evasive.[4]
