Tomana's lawyers yesterday successfully sought for a postponement of Tomana's trial to 7 July. The lawyers informed the court that there were preliminary issues they intend to raise before the trial commences.

Tomana is being accused with criminal abuse of duty as a public officer or alternatively defeating or obstructing the course of justice after he allegedly ordered the release of two men suspected of trying to petrol bomb the First Lady's Alpha Omega dairy farm in Mazowe. Tomana's lawyer argued that he was not feeling well and could not proceed with the matter yesterday.
