Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer has denied reports suggesting he withdrew from the SAMA Festival UK due to a disturbing dream involving a plane explosion.
Following his withdrawal, event organisers Y2K Promotions alleged that the musician had experienced a frightening dream about a plane crash, which led him to lock himself in an airport bathroom and subsequently abandon the trip.
However, in an interview with <a href="https://www.heraldonline.co.zw/silent-killer-hits-back-over-sama-festival-denies-locking-self-in-airport-toilet-blasts-blots-manager-over-deal/">H-Metro</a>, Silent Killer refuted these claims, clarifying that his decision was based on professional and financial disagreements.
He asserted that arrangements for his participation in the festival had been made by fellow artist Blot’s manager without his direct involvement. 
Silent Killer, who currently does not have a manager, claimed the proposed payment of US$2,000 was not acceptable, especially as he typically charges US$1,500 for local performances.
He said he had not been consulted during the negotiation process and was dissatisfied with both the terms and the manner in which the agreement was handled.
Silent Killer also revealed that Y2K Promotions allegedly owes him money, a factor that further influenced his decision not to perform at the festival. He said:

These people owe me money, and the story they are spreading on social media about me locking myself in the toilet is completely false.
To be honest, I was never part of the deal. They made an agreement with Blot’s manager, but the amount agreed upon was too low for me − it’s close to what I charge for local gigs.
I don’t see eye to eye with Blot and they had to deal with his manager why.

Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer, real name Jimmy Mudereri, pulled out of a flight to the UK for a show, claiming he had a dream the plane was going to “explode.”
The controversial chanter, known for his hit “Hatitongwi neMasalad,” reportedly got cold feet just before boarding his flight at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare.
Speaking at a press conference, promoter Fred Matenga from Y2K Promotions said Silent Killer had already checked in along with the rest of the crew but suddenly turned around and headed back to his car for no clear reason.
The artist, who has often made headlines for alleged drug use and unprofessional behaviour, was booked on another flight later that evening, with the promoters forking out an extra US$1,500 for the ticket.
But once again, he bailed at the last minute – this time reportedly locking himself in an airport toilet to avoid being persuaded to get on the plane. Said Matenga:

Silent Killer’s manager, Elder Shambare has claimed that it was very difficult working with the musician due to his drug addiction.
Elder Shambare, who recently announced that he was cutting ties with Silent Killer, told <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/silent-killer-is-a-drug-addict-claims-ex-manager/">H-Metro</a> that the Locker Mastreets hitmaker was not serious about his life and business. He said:

The issue isn’t at all about the contract ending but I have failed to put up with his behaviour, lack of seriousness about business issues and his life and drug abuse at the expense of building his career.
I am afraid that if I tell you the real issues, it will further affect his career as fans and promoters will know the real Silent Killer.
So, I just decided to put it lightly so that I don’t cause despondency in various quarters.

Silent Killer has been trending for the good part of 2023 and he even flew to the United Kingdom, at the end of October, for several shows before heading to South Africa.
Drug and substance abuse is a significant concern among Zimbabwean adolescents and young people.
According to <a href="https://www.unicef.org/zimbabwe/reports/understanding-drug-use-and-substance-abuse-zimbabwean-adolescents-and-young-people">an October 2023 UNICEF report</a>, one of the most severe public health and socio-pathological threats facing adolescents and young people is substance abuse, which long-term impacts their well-being and future.
The report says risky and escalating behaviour by adolescents and young people includes drug and alcohol abuse and unprotected sexual practices.
The causes of drug and substance abuse in Zimbabwe include peer pressure, the breakdown of family support, limited knowledge and availability and social influence.

Silent Killer Is A Drug Addict, Claims Former Manager

Music producer Arnold Kamudyariwa, popularly known as <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/DJ_Fantan">DJ Fantan</a>, and Zimdancehall musician <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Silent_Killer">Silent Killer</a>, whose real name is Jimmy Mudereri, are now working together again after their acrimonious fallout last year.
Fantan and Silent Killer were at loggerheads since last year after the latter assaulted Fantan’s younger brother, Tinashe Kamudyariwa, over an undisclosed issue.
Tinashe was admitted to the hospital after the bashing, while Silent Killer was later cleared of the charges.
Silent Killer was subsequently banished from Chillspot Records, which is co-owned by DJ Fantan.
Fantan recently confirmed to <a href="https://www.sundaymail.co.zw/fantan-silent-killer-bury-the-hatchet">The Sunday Mail</a> that the two are working together again. He said:

We cannot allow the past to negatively affect our future. What happened between me and Silent Killer a year ago is now water under the bridge.
He will feature on our new riddim, which is set to be released at the weekend.

DJ Fantan, Silent Killer Working Together Again

Zimdancehall artiste Silent Killer, whose real name is Jummy Mudereri, has confessed to abusing an illicit drug called Guka Makafela (crystal meth).
Speaking during Star FM’s After Drive show hosted by DJ Ollah 7, Silent Killer said he doesn’t like drugs but takes them when they are offered to him. He said:

I no longer trust people in my circles. I don’t remember how many times I have taken guka. Only those vandorova navo know better.
I don’t like drugs, ndivo vanotouya nemadrugs avo, I don’t have much explanation about drugs, I am just an innocent soul anotoigirwawo.
Drugs make someone high and it becomes difficult to control oneself.

The musician said the reason why most people were taking drugs could be idleness and peer pressure.
He said there is need to identify routes being used to smuggle drugs and illicit substances into the country and arrest the perpetrators. Said Silent Killer:

He also talked about his relationship with DJ Fantan saying the Chillspot proprietor holds a grudge against him. He said:

He almost ran over me with his car. I am not accusing him but he wanted to run over me after we met.
I exposed him in 2019, when we were no longer working together at Chill Spot, ndakunzi ndapera.

Silent Killer said he was educated up to Ordinary Level and “passed” only one subject with a “D” grade. On how he got his nickname, he said:

I just remember ndakudaidzwa kunzi Silent Killer in 2006 and now they are now calling me Ngirozi Yehondo.
I think I got this name from God, I released a song in 2013 which was a reply to the one produced by PTK.
From there, I was now being called Ngirozi Yehondo.
I don’t look for war, the only war I fight is to fight hondo dzezvakaipa, Satan, who is tormenting us as young people.
