'I wasn't involved in granting Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity': Zuma
Answering a question from Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane in Parliament, South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma said that he was not involved granting diplomatic immunity to Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe who was being investigated for assaulting model Gabriella Engels (20).
He said he could not answer Maimane because he is not a lawyer. Said Zuma:
I was not involved in the process. So I am not going to give you an answer that is not there. I am not a lawyer and I don’t know how the matter came to a point where it came. I can’t lie.
FeedbackThe decision to grant Grace diplomatic immunity is being challenged at South Africa’s Constitutional Court by human rights group AfriForum and opposition party DA.
