Air Zimbabwe acquired a new plane from the United States a few days after its one and only plane in operation (Chimanimani) caught fire twice in the space of 48 hours.
The plane touched down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare at 1.30PM on Tuesday. Award-winning journalist Hopewell Chin’ono wrote on Twitter:
One of the planes bought by Robert Mugabe for his controversial Zimbabwe Airways project, an Embraer, is now at Robert Mugabe International Airport and will now be part of the Air Zimbabwe aircraft. The twin-engine was made by a Brazilian aerospace company named Embraer.
