"In A Fight, It's Not The Size Of The Dog That Matters," Gutu Speaks After MDC-T Strategic Meeting

Former Deputy Minister of Justice, Obert Gutu who is also the Vice President of the MDC led by Dr Thokozani Khupe has said that it mattered that the party had fewer supporters.

Speaking after the MDC-T leadership in a strategic retreat meeting held on Friday, Gutu said:

MDC-T leadership in a strategic retreat meeting in Bulawayo on Friday, January 10, 2020.

In a fight, it’s not the size of the dog that matters but rather, the size of the fight in the dog.

His remarks come as some have argued that the MDC-T was a decoy created by the ruling ZANU PF to divide MDC votes.

The MDC split, again, following the death of the party founding leader, Morgan Tsvangirai who succumbed to cancer on 14 February 2018 as the party leadership wrangled for power.

While Khupe’s MDC did not impress in the 2018 elections, the other one led by advocate Nelson Chamisa did extremely well considering that he took over the party leadership merely a few months before the elections and squabbles in the party.
