MPs Urged Not To Travel To China Until The Coronavirus Has Been Tamed
3 years ago
Health and Childcare Minister Obadiah Moyo has advised Members of Parliament to avoid visiting China for business of for shopping until the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has been eradicated.
Addressing legislators in the National Assembly, Moyo said it was by the grace of God that Zimbabwe has not yet reported a confirmed case of the coronavirus. He said:
Let us stop this issue of travelling to China completely. No travelling to China please, at this stage, stay in your country and stop shopping. Let us stay in our country; it is by God’s grace that we do not have it here.
FeedbackMoyo added that health personnel, as well as the immigration, the police, the soldiers and everyone who is deployed at the country’s borders, have been placed on high alert.
Meanwhile, a Zimbabwean woman who had travelled to China and passed through Wuhan before she returned home was briefly quarantined at Wilkins Hospital. She was discharged on Thursday after tests showed that she was coronavirus-free.
