Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 23 December 2021:
- 1 940 New Cases (All local) and 27 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 2 149 from 2 473 (yesterday). NB: 4 Of the 14 deaths reported by Harare occurred in the community on 21 December and were no reported.
- Vaccination Update: 10 370 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 089 039 while 10 148 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 098 820 as at 1600 hrs.
- As of 22 December 2021, @1500hrs there were 401 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (49), Asymptomatic 21, mild to moderate 335, severe 41 and 4 in Intensive Care Units.
- 3 919 tests done today (Positivity today was 49.5%)
- 3 640 new recoveries: National Recovery rate rise to 75% & Active cases go down 45 180.
- As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 201 344 Cases 151 309 recoveries & 4 855 Deaths.
