Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 18 April 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 18 April 2022:

  • 19 New Cases (All local) and 1 Death were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 41 from 44 (yesterday).
  • Vaccination Update: 4 895 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 794 196, 807 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 615 160 while 1 467 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 567 093.
  • As of 17 April 2022, @1500hrs there were (16) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (10), Asymptomatic (0), mild to moderate (14), severe (2) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 10 of the 16 hospitalized were vaccinated and 6 were not vaccinated.
  • 867 tests done today (Positivity today was 2.2%)
  • 100 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 97% & Active cases fall to 721.
  • As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 247 297 Cases 241 112 recoveries & 5 464 Deaths.
