Man Jumps Into Car And Drives Away While Owner Was Touting For Passengers
A motorist lost his car in Harare on Friday night when an unknown man jumped into the car and drove away while the owner was touting for passengers.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the incident happened around 2110 hours at the intersection of Robert Mugabe and Cameroon Street.
Police say the motorist left the keys of a Toyota Wish (AED 4810) in the ignition while touting for passengers. Further reads the police statement:
An unknown suspect jumped into the car and drove away towards Mbare.
In a related case, the vehicle’s owner left it parked at the intersection of Julius Nyerere and Speke Avenue while buying some vegetables.
Police say he locked the doors and windows. He returned after about 15 minutes and found the car, a Honda Fit vehicle (AEY 7761), gone.
