Robert Mugabe Junior Has Been Freed
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has freed Robert Jr. Mugabe, the son of the late former president Robert Gabriel Mugabe, who was detained on suspicion of malicious damage to property before making his court appearance.
Robert Tinotenda Mugabe Junior, (31), was arrested on Monday 20 February 2023, according to a police report seen by Pindula News.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said Robert Junior was arrested on Malicious Damage to Property allegations after a complaint by his friend Nkatazo Sindiso (31) that he destroyed property worth USD12 000.00 at house number 3A Verdi Lane, Strathaven, Harare.
Robert Mugabe junior, who was represented by Ashiel Mugiya and Tungamirai Muganhiri, was freed after consultation with the prosecuting authority.
According to the lawyers, the case was not supposed to be reported, but it was just a misunderstanding with his colleagues and the misunderstanding was not criminal.
Mugabe did not appear in court and the matter was decided at the vetting by the prosecution.
