Carlington Nyadombo is a Zimbabwean footballer who plays for Amazulu Football Club in the South African Premier League as a defender

Background

Nyadombo was born on December 25, 1985 in Makoni.[1]

Career

Career's football career took of when he started turning out for Gunners Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. He clinched the league title with the club and managed to play in the prestigious African Champions League.[2] Following a string of impressive performances, Nyadombo was signed by Amazulu in 2010 and as of 2015, he was still a member of the team. Nyadombo enjoyed a very long stint with Amazulu, some of his finest moments with the club include a goal he scored against former English champions, Manchester City. At some point, Nyadombo was also named the captain of Amazulu. In May 2015, Nyadombo was said to have been looking for a move away from Amazulu after he was suspended by the club indefinitely for dishonesty.[3]

National Team Caps

Dombo has played for the warriors on a number of occasions and has also captained the national side.[4] He was the warriors captain when the national team faced Tanzania in an AFCON match qualifier which was played in Tanzania.[4] He also featured for the national team in 2012 under the guidance of Rahman Gumbo when the warriors played against Burundi.[5]

Nyadombo vs Man City

Controversy

Nyadombo was suspended by Amazulu in 2015 after there were several claiming that the player was using juju/muti which was working to the detriment of the team. The club nonetheless denied the allegations that Nyadombo had been suspended for muti use but for dishonesty.[6]
