Paul Matavire better known as "Dr Love" is one of the most celebrated music legends of yesteryear. He rose to prominence with his hard hitting lyrics that commented on topical issues such as the dangers workplace romance, infidelity poor performance in school by children just to mention a few. Some of his oustanding tracks that propelled him to stardom include "Christmas Yasvika", "Nhamo Yousavi", "Tanga Wandida" and "MaU".
Having lost his eyesight at the young age of six, it is said that Matavire taught himself to play drums before he eventually left his studies to join a band in Bulawayo. Regardless of his visual impairment, his songs described various life situations in very graphic detail as if he was not blind. Matavire had a very successful music career which took him around the country as well as several international shows.
